Fantasy Ridge farms is a small family-operated hunter/jumper facility located 14 minutes west of Airdrie, Alberta. We are a very family-friendly barn and cater to our up-and-coming youth of the equestrian world.
Home of our fully insured coaches Jenn Pugh and Jessica Horne, our instructors have over 24 years of experience in the hunter/jumper world and experience in many other disciplines. We offer a wide variety of programs for boarding, lessons, lease options, custom training packages, sales, and breeding program.
We at Fantasy Ridge want to provide a safe, fun, structured environment for our barn family. There are many opportunities to show. We show at many different venues for all levels of riders and horses from the Begginer Best series to Thunderbird Show Park.
We encourage our show clients to lesson two times per a week in a program. We really strive to teach the basics up. For example, one lesson will consist of basic dressage and another will focus on pole work or some form of jumping. Even so, we nurture clients who aren't focused on showing or want to lesson less often.
Fantasy Ridge is also very dedicated to off-the-track thoroughbreds. We rehab, retrain, showcase, and sell them. They are a big part of our barn and we work hard to give them a second career after the race track.

Jenn started competitively riding at age seven. She acquired her first horse, a fresh off-the-track thoroughbred, at age nine and her love for the breed stuck for life. Jenn competed in A-circuit hunters and jumpers with a couple of years doing dressage also. She assisted with lessons at age fourteen and started retraining OTTBs and assisting with bringing up young horses at the same time.
Jenn decided to take a break from showing so that she could retrain TBs, focus on colt starting, and dabble in some western activities. With the help and encouragement of her loving husband Garett Pugh, they founded Fantasy Ridge Farms spring of 2018. From a metal quonset and cattle corrals, together they built home of Fantasy Ridge: a small, family-run hunter/jumper facility with many more new exciting features to come.

Assistant coach and trainer — Jessica developed a great love for horses at a young age. With that love grew a strong drive and devotion over the last seven years with a passion for starting horses and focusing on the eventing world. She purchased her first horse at the age of nineteen and continues today to be the best she can be with an efficacious personality that makes you feel welcomed and accomplished.
Jessica has completed her rider level four and plans to finish all levels in 2020. She has a strong love for off-the-track thoroughbreds, starting her last horse herself. She and her horse competed at their first show last fall, placing very well with first in their equitation on the flat.
After training under Jenn, Jessica has become Fantasy Ridge Farms' Assistant Trainer and runs our lesson horse program. She starts our youngsters, OTTBs, and is taking on clients. She has been working very hard and has assisted with restarting of our OTTBs, schooling rides on the lesson horses, sales, and young horses to the meter plus.
Over the last eleven years, Jenn has volunteered at the Calgary stampede to showcase and educate the public of off-the-track thoroughbreds. Her horses are in the booth and riding in demos to show they are capable of much more than racing.
Jenn is also chair of the light horse for Aggie days, where we showcase horses and Fantasy Ridge Farms students complete in a mini three-day jump competition.
